I just got into a car accident with my 1991 300zx TT. It wasn't bad but still very annoying. This is what basically what happened. I was driving in my lane and this girl abruptly switched lanes (or was trying to turn left when she wasn't in the correct lane to turn left). No turn signal, no indications that she was moving left. Generally, I can avoid these collisions because they merge in slowly, but she was going changing too quickly to avoid the collision. In any case, we called the police and they came, they helped us fill out the form for insurance and we all left. The girl did not bring her insurance card, which the police should care about, but they didn't. Now I have a police form with all her information but her insurance number. She said she was with Farmer's Insurance. I called my insurance company and they told me to call Farmer's to get her insurance number. I called them and they couldn't find her in their system. The last few days I have been trying to call her as well, to get her insurance number. So, today I called my insurance back and they tried calling her and Farmer's to no avail. My insurance company recommended for me to call the Police and see if they could find her. The police said they don't do that and they said the officer should have gotten her insurance number, but there's nothing they can do now. Now, what is my next step?.... Has anyone been in this situation? Any advice? Thanks for any help.
